Overview
A StockApp company is a separate business workspace. Each company has its own product catalog, contacts, orders, and settings. You can belong to multiple companies if you are invited to join them.
Who this is for: Users who operate multiple business identities or belong to multiple companies within StockApp.
What happens in the system
Each company operates independently with its own data
Switching companies changes your entire working context (products, orders, contacts)
Team invitations are company-specific - you can be on different teams in different companies
When you accept an invitation to join a company, that company appears in your companies list
What does NOT happen
No data sharing between companies: Products, orders, and contacts in one company are not visible in another.
No automatic sync: Changes in one company do not affect other companies you belong to.
No cross-company orders: An order placed in one company context stays in that company.
Prerequisites
An active StockApp account
Viewing Your Companies
To see all your companies:
Step 1: Click the Settings icon in the left sidebar
Step 2: The Settings page opens, showing your current company's settings
Step 3: Click your profile avatar (your initials) at the bottom-left of the screen to open the account menu
Step 4: Your companies appear under the StockApps section in the dropdown
Alternatively, navigate directly to Settings > Your companies (visible in the URL as ?view=stockapps). This page shows all companies you have access to. Each company card displays:
Company name: The display name of the company
Email: The email associated with this company
Currently active: Shows which company you're currently working in
Switching Between Companies
Step 1: Click your profile avatar (your initials) at the bottom-left of the screen
Step 2: Your available companies appear in the dropdown under StockApps
Step 3: Click Switch to this StockApp on any company card in the Your companies page to switch to it. The page will reload with that company's data.
Accepting Company Invitations
When someone invites you to join their company, the invitation appears on the Your companies page.
Each invitation shows:
The company name
The role you've been invited for
Click Accept to join or Decline to reject the invitation.
Editing Company Settings
Step 1: Go to Settings > Company info (under the Company section)
Step 2: You can edit:
Basic Info:
Legal name: Your registered business name (read-only, contact support to change)
Display name: The name shown to customers and vendors
Premium URL: A custom URL for your company
Company logo: Upload your company logo
Company ID: Your unique identifier (read-only)
Contact & Location:
Primary email: Your business contact email (read-only)
Primary phone: Your business phone number
Business location: City, state/region, postal code, and country
Step 3: Click Save settings to apply changes
Common Issues
Issue: Cannot Find Other Companies
Symptom: You don't see other companies in the user menu dropdown or Your companies page.
Solution: Verify you have received and accepted invitations to other companies. Check for pending invitations on the Your companies page.
Issue: Changes Appearing in Wrong Company
Symptom: Product or contact changes seem to appear in the wrong company.
Solution: Check which company you're currently working in by looking at the company name in the top navigation bar. Switch to the correct company before making changes.
