Overview
The Directory is your central hub for managing all business relationships in StockApp. It organizes your professional network into three main areas:
My Contacts - Personal business contacts imported from external sources
Companies - Companies you have business relationships with (Buyers and Vendors)
Teammates - Members of your own company who can access your StockApp account
What happens in the system
Importing contacts scans your external address book and matches email addresses against existing StockApp users.
Sending a connection request notifies the recipient via email. They must accept before the relationship is active.
Connecting with a company gives you access to their shared pricelists and allows you to place orders (if they're a vendor) or receive orders (if they're a buyer).
Inviting a teammate sends an email invitation. They must create an account or sign in to join your organization.
Assigning an owner to a company does not notify the company - it's an internal designation for your team.
What does NOT happen
Importing contacts does NOT send them messages - It only scans and matches. You must explicitly invite or connect.
Connecting with a company does NOT share your products - You must separately share pricelists with them.
Adding a teammate does NOT give them full access - Their permissions depend on the roles you assign.
Deleting a contact does NOT end the business relationship - Company connections remain until explicitly disconnected.
Connection requests do NOT auto-accept - The other party must approve each request.
Prerequisites
Before you start:
An active StockApp account
Logged in to your company account
Contact information ready to import (if importing from CSV)
Understanding the Directory
The Directory has three main tabs:
Each tab serves a different purpose in managing your professional network.

From anywhere in StockApp, click the Directory icon (people icon) in the left sidebar navigation.
The Directory page displays three tabs at the top:
My contacts - Shows your imported personal contacts
Companies - Shows companies you do business with
Teammates - Shows members of your organization
Step 2: Explore the Companies Tab

Common Issues
Issue: Can't find a company in the Directory
Symptom: A company you do business with doesn't appear in your Companies list
Solution:
Check both the Buyers and Vendors sections - the company might be listed in the other category
Look in the "Pending approval" or "Invited" sub-tabs if the relationship is new
Use the search bar to search by company name
The company may not have a StockApp account yet - consider inviting them
Issue: Imported contacts don't show as "on StockApp"
Symptom: After importing contacts, none of them show as connected to StockApp
Solution:
Contact matching is based on email addresses - ensure your contacts have accurate email information
Your contacts may not have StockApp accounts yet
Consider inviting them using the Quick invite feature
Issue: Can't assign a teammate to a company
Symptom: Unable to set an assigned owner for a buyer or vendor
Solution:
The team member needs appropriate permissions (role) to be assigned
Check if the team member has access to the relevant StockApp
Contact your admin if you need permissions adjusted
Issue: Can't invite teammates
Symptom: The "Invite teammates" button doesn't work or invites fail
Solution:
Verify you have User Admin or Super Admin permissions
Check that the email address is valid and not already associated with your organization
The person may already have a pending invitation - check with them to accept it
