Overview

As a buyer in StockApp, you have access to product catalogs from vendors who have shared their inventory with you. You can browse products from all your vendors at once using the All StockApps view, or focus on a single vendor's catalog.

The All StockApps view combines products from all vendors into one list. The single vendor view shows only one vendor's products.

What happens in the system

  • When you browse products, you see live data from vendor catalogs

  • Stock levels and prices reflect the vendor's current inventory

  • Adding a product to your cart reserves nothing — it simply saves the item for checkout

  • Products from multiple vendors can be added to the same cart

  • At checkout, StockApp creates separate purchase orders for each vendor

What does NOT happen

  • No automatic purchase — Adding to cart does not place an order. You must complete checkout.

  • No price lock — Prices may change until you complete the order.

  • No vendor notification — Vendors do not see that you are browsing their catalog.

  • No stock reservation — Adding to cart does not hold inventory. Stock can sell out before you checkout.

  • No data modification — Browsing does not change any product information.

Prerequisites

  • An active StockApp account

  • At least one vendor relationship (vendors must have shared their product catalogs with you)

  • Permission to view products and create orders

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the Vendor Selector

From anywhere in StockApp, click on the company name in the top-left corner of the screen. This opens the vendor selector dropdown.

The dropdown shows:

  • Your company at the top

  • Invite button to add new vendor relationships

  • Search bar to find specific vendors

  • All StockApps – View All Items option for the aggregated view

  • List of your connected vendors

Step 2: Choose How to Browse

You have two options:

Option A: All StockApps (Aggregated View)

Click "All StockApps – View All Items" to see products from all your vendors combined in one list. Products from different vendors appear side by side, each showing the vendor's name.

Option B: Single Vendor

Click on a specific vendor's name to see only their products.

Step 3: Browse the Product Catalog

After selecting your view, you see the product list with filters on the left and products on the right.

Each product row shows:

  • Product image and title

  • SKU number

  • Condition, packaging, and warranty badges

  • Price and ETA (estimated time of arrival)

  • Stock availability (e.g., "24 in stock", "9 in stock, 12 MOQ, 500 MXQ")

  • Action buttons: Create alert (bell), Message (chat), Make an offer (handshake)

  • Quantity selector

  • Add to cart button

Available filters include:

  • Quick filters: Saved filter combinations

  • Tags

  • Category, Price, Condition

  • Manufacturer, Warranty, Packaging

  • Terms and returns, Specifications, Location, Date

Step 4: View a Single Vendor's Catalog

When you select a specific vendor, you see only their products.

The single vendor view shows:

  • Vendor name at top left

  • All items dropdown to filter by product lists the vendor has shared

  • Products only from that vendor

  • Vendor-specific filters and quick filters based on their catalog

Step 5: View Product Details

Click on any product title or image to open the detail panel on the right side of the screen.

The detail panel includes:

Header section:

  • Vendor name and SKU

  • Product title

  • Condition, packaging, warranty, and returns badges

  • Price and ETA

Action section:

  • Stock availability (e.g., "24 in stock")

  • Quantity selector

  • Add to cart or In cart button

  • Offer button — Make a custom price offer to the vendor

  • Message button — Start a conversation with the vendor and their team

Details tab:

  • External IDs (MPN, UPC, GTIN)

  • Product description

  • Category, packaging, condition, warranty, terms and returns

  • Shipping weight and dimensions

  • Manufacturer and brand

  • Technical specifications

Related tab:

  • Other listings of the same product from other vendors

Step 6: Add Products to Cart

When you find a product you want to purchase:

  1. Set the quantity using the number field (minimum order quantity is enforced)

  2. Click "Add to cart"

  3. The button changes to "In cart" confirming the item was added

You can continue browsing and adding more products. When you're ready to purchase, proceed to checkout using the cart icon in the top-right corner.

Note: If a product is out of stock, the Add to cart button is disabled. You can click "Waitlist" (or "Create alert") to be notified when the item is back in stock.

What changes over time

  • Prices update — Vendors can change prices at any time. The price you see is valid at the moment of viewing.

  • Stock levels change — Inventory decreases as other buyers purchase. Products can become unavailable.

  • ETAs shift — Delivery estimates update based on vendor inventory and shipping conditions.

  • Products are added or removed — Vendors may add new products or remove discontinued ones from their catalog.

Common Issues

Issue: I Don't See Any Vendors

Symptom: The vendor dropdown shows only your company name and no vendor list below it

Possible causes:

  1. No vendors have shared their catalogs with you yet

  2. Your vendor invitations are pending acceptance

Solution:

  • Click Invite in the vendor dropdown to send invitations to suppliers

  • Contact vendors you work with and ask them to share their catalog with you

Issue: Products Show As Sold Out

Symptom: Products you want show zero stock or a disabled Add to cart button

Solution:

  • Check if other vendors carry the same product by switching to the All StockApps view

  • Use the Create alert (bell) button to get notified when stock is restored

  • Contact the vendor directly using the Message button to ask about restock timing

Issue: Add to Cart Is Disabled

Symptom: The "Add to cart" button is grayed out and cannot be clicked

Possible causes:

  1. The product is out of stock

  2. The quantity entered is below the minimum order quantity (MOQ)

  3. Offers are disabled for this item (the offer handshake icon will appear grayed out)

Solution:

  • Check the stock info below the button

  • Adjust quantity to meet the minimum order requirement shown in the stock info
